Microsoft is all set to launch its new Surface Duo 2 at the end of 2021. The leaked photos revealed two devices in classic colors, both Black and White.
The images show a bulky triple camera setup at the back of the Microsoft Surface Duo 2 that’s indeed a big improvement. Although the device hasn’t arrived yet. But, rumors suggest it will include a telephoto, an ultrawide angle, and a standard lens. The camera bump looks quite similar to the Android smartphones.
Last month, a video revealed Surface Duo 2 that’s exactly the same as the images circulating these days. We must say, they look sexy in these black and white colors.
Since the company hasn’t revealed anything about the specs, we can only notice what’s visible to us. the front images of Surface Duo 2 haven’t been revealed yet so we can’t say anything about its screen size, display resolution, display protection, and PPI, etc.
Currently, the only major upgrade from its predecessor is the camera unit. According to The Verge, rumors suggest the Surface Duo 2 will include Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 processor, 5G support, and an NFC chip for contactless payments.
Microsoft may even slightly increase the size of each display on the Surface Duo 2, with slightly thinner bezels. Thin bezels are more in trend these days. From this video, It appears that Microsoft has moved its fingerprint reader into the power button on the Surface Duo 2 and centered the USB-C port on the right-hand side.
Microsoft Surface Duo screens are foldable but not like the Galaxy Z Fold. They are usually separate screens attached in parallel to each other and the device folds just like a book folds. These screens do help a lot in productivity while doing multiple tasks.
But, it’s not about just hardware. With these parallel foldable screens, you must need software that’s more compatible with that particular hardware. Some users have experienced regular issues with multitasking and gestures, a screen turning off during book mode, and lockups using the fingerprint reader. And with that many bugs and issues, this foldable feature completely ruins the user experience.
It’s good to see companies doing experiments with bigger displays too. Samsung is also up for that, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 might have rotating cameras!
Windows Central claims they’re legitimate. Microsoft is expected to launch its Surface Duo 2 device in September or October.
