It’s a new beginning for Fossil smartwatches as Fossil’s upcoming 6th generation smartwatch has some leaks, spotted by a retailer “WinFuture” The source claims that the upcoming smartwatch is expected to arrive with Snapdragon 4100 plus series.
Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100 Plus is the latest addition and major update to its smartwatch platform since 2018. Qualcomm claims it’s a much faster new processor as well as considerable improvements in GPU, memory, camera, and overall battery life.
Fossil’s upcoming 6th generation smartwatch will be the Fossil’s first-ever gadget after Google announced its collaboration with Samsung for the third generation of their Wear OS operating system for better performance and user experience.
The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 will also arrive with Wear OS but without Snapdragon processors. Galaxy Watch 4 will be powered by the Exynos W920 chipset which is the company’s latest chipset in the smartwatch category. It has an amazing feature that will calculate body fat percentage and muscle mass.
Fossil smartwatches are considered to be premium. WinFuture reports that the upcoming 6th generation smartwatch will have a 1.28-inch 416×416 circular OLED display and will come in 42mm and 44mm case sizes with a selection of straps including leather, fabric, and metal.
Furthermore, the leaks suggest Fossil 6th generation smartwatch will have 8GB of internal storage, 24 hours of battery life, GPS, and heart rate monitoring, and blood oxygen sensors to track your health and fitness.
With Snapdragon 4100 plus and Google’s latest operating system – in collaboration with Samsung, this smartwatch sounds dope! But… according to some rumors, it’s unlikely that we would see Google Wear OS 3 with this watch that’s a bit annoying.
To get maximum output from your hardware, you need optimized software and Google Wear OS 3 would be a perfect match with Snapdragon 4100 Plus but at that moment, it’s not gonna happen!
Whereas, Google announced its Wear OS 3 update plans to arrive in the month of July. and the upcoming Fossil devices will be among those to receive a Wear OS 3 update in the mid to second half of 2022, that’s a bit late for gadget enthusiasts.
According to Winfuture, Fossil’s 6th generation smartwatch will go on sale on September 27th, when it looks set to cost €299 (around $350) or €329 (around $385),
