The first-ever midrange device without a headphone jack?

Google Pixel 6A leak images exhibits a smaller device with no headphone jack

The Google Pixel 6 Series has been a huge success in the Android lineup, and now we have some leak images of the Google Pixel 6A, which falls in the midrange segment.

The Pixel 6A, which is part of the Pixel A-series lineup, is nearly identical to the standard Pixel 6. It appears to have the same black camera strip on the back with two cameras and a flash, as well as a hole-punch selfie camera on the front. The gadget looks to contain a USB-C connector on the bottom, as well as a speaker and a microphone.

The Verge reported about the rendered images of the Google Pixel 6A have been leaked by reliable leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer (@OnLeaks), and give us a glimpse at what the midrange device may look like, first reported by 91Mobiles.

According to 9to5Google, there appears to be no fingerprint sensor on the device’s outside — this might suggest that the scanner is hidden behind the screen, like with the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, for which Google just issued an update to address the scanner’s performance concerns.

The Pixel 6A is also much smaller than the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, measuring at 152.2 x 71.8 x 8.7 mm and featuring a 6.2-inch display (via 91Mobiles). This is significantly smaller than the dimensions of a standard Pixel 6, which measures 158.6 x 74.8 x 8.9 mm and has a 6.4-inch display.

There’s no news on when the Pixel 6A will be launched — after all, the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro were only introduced last month — so we’ll have to wait a little longer to see some official shots of the smartphone.

We’ll have to wait and see what the price is because they’re in the midrange market and will compete directly with the Samsung Galaxy A series and other midrange smartphones.

However, the best thing about Google devices is that they come with years of security updates, and this Google Pixel 6 series will come with 5 years.
