OnePlus Integrates With OPPO - It's Official!

OnePlus and OPPO have decided to roll out as partners. We all knew this was coming.

OnePlus and OPPO have a brother-sister relationship. Both companies are owned by Guangdong-based conglomerate BBK Electronics that also owns brands such as Vivo and Realme. All these companies, thus, share resources internally since their inception. You might know, the collaboration from these smartphone companies has been going for a very long time.

OnePlus was quite popular because of providing flagship level specifications combined with premium build quality. Their Oxygen OS is clean as crystal that is loved by most of the smartphone users. OnePlus is also known for collaborating with top tech companies. Recently, OnePlus and Hasselblad enter long-term partnership to co-develop next generation of flagship smartphone cameras.

On the other hand OPPO is popular for providing high end specifications with average build quality and awesome cameras to capture mid range market. Not only that their flagship models always bring something unique like OPPO FIND X etc.

“I’m confident that this change will be positive for our community and our users. With this deeper integration with OPPO, we will have more resources at hand to create even better products for you.”

Pete Lau said in the blog post.

Furthermore, Lau stated that both companies will operate independently. You’ll see more products separately and holding events. The companies will engage directly with its users through its existing channels.

“As always, we wanted to let you – our community – know about this directly from us as soon as we could share the news with you. You are a vital part of the OnePlus family, so it’s important that we communicate changes like this with you directly. Thank you for supporting us over all these years. We can’t do any of this without the OnePlus community”.

This will help the company to be more efficient and provide OnePlus users with faster and stable software upgrades. Unfortunately, the company’s CEO isn’t commenting on the specifics of the time. However, we can expect speedy upgrades for older OnePlus phones from the company.

OnePlus Nord 2 is expected to be the first phone launched from this collaboration. The OnePlus 2 is rumored to be the upgraded version of the OPPO Reno 6. But for confirmation, we’ll have to wait for the official announcement.
