Qualcomm announced Snapdragon 888 plus processor that is based on 5-nanometer technology with clocks up to 3 GHz and 20% improved AI than its predecessor.

Snapdragon 888 Plus comes with the 6th Generation Qualcomm AI Engine, it also equips Kryo 680 CPU with prime core clock speed at up to 3.0 GHz. That’s actually 2.995GHz which Qualcomm is marketing as 3.00GHz.

Snapdragon 888 Plus is about to dive into the flagship smartphone processors category in android smartphones. Qualcomm is one of the oldest and most reputable companies that is supplying its hardware to many smartphone companies and recently Nuvia has also join hands with Qualcomm.

Snapdragon 888 was the predecessor of this Snapdragon 888 plus. The difference between 888 and 888 plus is that it comes with a 20% better AI task than its predecessor which makes both processors a bit identical which’s bothering many tech analysts. We were expecting something extraordinary. It’s the same old update that we have seen in Snapdragon 865 Plus. Still old school?

AI is the true hero of the Snapdragon® 888+, working diligently and seamlessly to improve every on-device passion and pastime. Real-time translation of in-game chat enables seamless collaboration for cutting-edge global competition. Video upscaling boosts video resolution without increasing data consumption. Plus, AI can auto-enhance your photography, including semantic segmentation in video capture, recognizing, isolating, and optimizing individual aspects of footage, such as subjects and backgrounds. This is intelligence like never before, catapulting the 8-series into a whole new category of excellence.

Qualcomm says the new battery technology is 70% more efficient than Quick Charge 4+ and offers 10 times more power than Quick Charge 1.0. It is also up to 10°C cooler than Quick Charge 4 and Quick Charge 4+.

According to news18, Qualcomm has also announced the support of Asus, Honor, Motorola, Vivo, and Xiaomi, all of whom have committed to launching flagship smartphones with the new SoC.

Xiaomi is going fast and furious by innovating something out of the box. few days ago the company also manufactured a charger with HyperCharge Fast Charging Technology that lets you charge your phone in just 8 minutes. That’s freaking fast!

However, Qualcomm states that smartphones with snapdragon 888 will announce in the mid-year of 2021 which means you can expect phones powered by Snapdragon 888 plus in the coming month or so. It will be out soon as one of the OEM companies plan to launch their flagship smartphones.
