Electrify America Offers Free Super Charge On Earth Day

22 AprilEarth Day is an annual event to support environmental protection across the globe. It was first held on April 22, 1970. But now, now includes a wide range of events coordinated globally by EARTHDAY.ORG including 1 billion people in more than 193 countries.

The Electrify America charging network is offering free ultra-fast charging sessions across the country starting at midnight ET Thursday through 3 a.m. ET Friday.

Electrify America is the leader in EV (Electric Vehicle) charging. They have a vast number of EV supercharger stations in the US including 569 stations along a cross-country route. Those stations have 2,500 fast-charger plugs in total that usually take about 30 minutes to add up to 180 miles of battery compared to slower “Level 2” charging that only gives you about 15 miles of range after 30 minutes.

According to Mashable,

A normal session on an Electrify America fast charger costs $0.43 per kWh in California. A Chevy Bolt EV, for example, has a 66 kWh battery with 259 miles of range, so a fast session on a dead battery would add up to $28 after about 40 minutes of charging. That’s a nice chunk of change to save on Earth Day. Drivers with a plug-in hybrid can also use free charging. But EVs do not take energy too quickly. It depends upon the vehicle’s battery.

The fast chargers in Electrify America are similar to the ones in Tesla Supercharge Network. But for now, no free supercharge offers from Tesla for Earth Day 2021.

Electrify America has great plans in the future to spread its number of EV supercharge stations. They are planning to install 150 more stations with 3,500 plugs by the end of 2021.

US newly elected President, Mr. Joe Biden has also announced funding for more supercharge infrastructure to speed up the adoption of EVs.

When it comes to EVs, Supercharge remains a big concern. The more supercharge stations, the more EVs will sell. For a successful future of EVs, we need more power stations so that customers can buy EVs without any hassle.

Mother Nature is suffering. We need a shift to a more sustainable economy that works for both people & the planet. Join this free virtual event to have a chat with NASA experts.
